About

"Lucy's werk", Berlin, 2008

I work as a Senior Experience Design Consultant for ThoughtWorks in London. I’m a user experience professional with over 10 years experience working on client-facing online projects. My UX skills include ethnographic research, interviews, focus groups, and survey design in support of user needs analysis, user testing, and heuristic and competitor evaluations. My Information Architecture skills include conducting client stakeholder planning workshops, persona development, card sorting, affinity diagramming, wireframing, product internationalization, and writing specifications. More details in my portfolio.

I recently completed my DPhil at the Oxford Internet Institute, studying e-Research in the life sciences, aka scientific social networking, supervised by Professor Ralph Schroeder and Dr Eric T. Meyer. I also worked on the RIN-Physical Sciences Information Practices project, and you can find that project report on the SSRN.

I was a member of Keble College, Oxford, and served as one of Keble’s Junior Deans, responsible for student welfare and discipline. Before starting my DPhil I worked for Publishing Technology (previously Ingenta) as an Information Architect and Usability specialist, with clients including the OECD, the World Bank and the IMF. I worked in the Internet industry for about 11 years before deciding to study it. I’m originally from Brisbane, Australia.
